(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On the 19th of December 2013, officers from the Quinte West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police conducted a number of RIDE checkpoints throughout the Quinte West Region.
Several hundred vehicles were stopped and checked resulting in a number of Highway Traffic Act charges. One roadside breath test was administered. No alcohol related charges were laid.
The Ontario Provincial Police would like to remind motorist that if you intend to be out celebrating the holiday season and intend to consume alcohol, to arrange for a ride home. Operation Red Nose is in effect. Call a cab or stay the night, just don’t drink and drive.
