(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On October 1st, 2015 at approximately 2:00pm an officer from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a motor vehicle on Ford Street in Trenton for a seatbelt offence.

As a result of an investigation the officer seized a quantity of marihuana, cash as well as other items relating to trafficking in a control substance.

Tia HINDS, 20 years old, of Quinte West and Koy TEASDALE, 21 years old, also of Quinte West have been charged with:

Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking- under 3 kg

Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

The pair is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice 15 Bridge Street West, Belleville on October 29, 2015.

MALE CHARGED WITH OBSTRUCTING POLICE OFFICER

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On October 3, 2015 at approximately 9:00am an officer from the Quinte West Detachment of the OPP attempted to stop a motor vehicle on Dundas Street East in Trenton. The motor vehicle was followed by the officer for a short period of time before the driver stopped on Heber Street and ran from the vehicle.

After a brief foot pursuit the officer arrested the male. As a result of the incident 24 year old Tyler PAPST of Oshawa has been charged with:

Traffick Schedule II Substance- Cannabis Marihuana under 3 kilograms

Assault a Peace Officer

Two Counts of Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada

Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

Obstruct Peace Officer

The accused is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice 15 Bridge Street West, Belleville, and November 5th, 2015. The officer was not injured.

DRUG TRAFFICKING CHARGES

(Quinte West, ON) – On October 4th, 2015 at approximately 10:15am officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the OPP received information about a motor vehicle being driven erratically.

Officer managed to locate the motor vehicle near Whites Rd in Quinte West. As a result of an investigation officers located a quantity of marihuana, methamphetamines, as well as a loaded prohibited weapon.

A 32 year old male from Cramahe Township is to appear at 15 Bridge Street West, Belleville, on October 5th, 2015 for a bail hearing on the following charges.

Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle

Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking -over 3 kg

Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or Ammunition

Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm

Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm

IMPAIRED DRIVER CHARGED AFTER COLLISION

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On October 5th, 2015, at approximately 1:20am officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the OPP attended to River Drive for the report of a roll over motor vehicle collision.

After officers arrived on scene and conducted an investigation they arrested a 19 year old male. Nick Douglas REYNOLDS 19 years old of Madoc has been charged with Driving While Ability Impaired- motor vehicle (Alcohol) and Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood.

The male is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice 15 Bridge Street West, Belleville, on October 22, 2015. There were no injuries reported from the collision.
