Quinte West OPP Press Releases

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On March 4th, 2017, at approximately 1:05am officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a motor vehicle on Coulter Crescent in Trenton. During the course of the stop it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been consuming alcohol and he held a G2 class drivers licence. The 19 year old Brighton male was issued a ticket for Novice driver – Blood Alcohol above zero.

REFUSE TO PROVIDE SAMPLE

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On March 4th, 2017, at approximately 12:05pm officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the OPP stopped a motor vehicle on North Murray Street in Trenton that was being driven erratically.

During the course of the stop it was believed that the female had been consuming alcohol.

As a result of a police investigation Ashley MCLEAN was arrested and charged with:

Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample (approved screening device) – Section 254(5) Criminal Code

The female was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville on March 23rd, 2017.

IMPAIRED COLLISION

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On Saturday March 4th, 2017, at approximately 5:30pm officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the OPP attended to Maple Street in Trenton for a motor vehicle collision.

During the course of the investigation it was determined that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

Gary RUSCONI, 70, of Quinte West has been charged with:

Care or Control While Impaired (Alcohol), Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

Care and Control Over 80mgs, Section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

No injuries were reported. One of the vehicles involved was parked and unoccupied.

The male was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville on March 23rd, 2017.

REFUSE TO PROVIDE SAMPLE

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On March 4th, 2017 at approximately 7:50pm officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the OPP responded to a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver.

Officers located the vehicle on Glen Ross Rd a short time later. During the course of the stop the officer determined that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

As a result Keith HENRY, 73, of Quinte West was arrested and has been charged with:

Care or Control While Impaired (Alcohol) – Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample – Section 254(5) of the Criminal Code

Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor – Section 32(1) of the Liquor Licence Act

The male was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville on March 23rd, 2017.

OVER 80 MGS CHARGE

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On March 5th, 2017 at approximately 3:35am officers from the Quinte West OPP were on general patrol when they observed a motor vehicle being driven erratically.

Officers stopped the vehicle on Princess Street in Trenton. During the course of the stop officers determined that the male had been consuming alcoholic beverages.

As a result of the investigation Daniel WEESE, 26, of Quinte West has been charged with:

Care and Control Over 80mgs, Section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

The male was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville on March 16th, 2017.
