PROVINCE CONTINUES TO OFFER $50,000 REWARD

Public Appeal for Information on Jessica Godin Hit and Run

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – On September 24, 2011 at approximately 2:20 PM the body of Jessica Marie Lynn Godin, who was 18-year-old at the time of her death, was located in a ditch on Du Parc Street, in the town of Fournier in Nation Township. Investigators believe that the death of Jessica Godin is as a result of a hit and run collision.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is reminding the public that this crime remains unsolved. Investigators believe that someone has information that would help solve this crime.

The Government of Ontario continue to offer a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person (or persons) responsible for the death of Jessica Godin.

Jessica had been residing at a friend’s house in Fournier, Ontario. Investigators have determined that she left that residence at approximately 6:00pm on September 22, 2011. She was last seen alive on that day between 7:00pm and 8:15pm in Fournier.

The autopsy indicated that her injuries sustained in this incident and where she was found at the scene was consistent with being struck by an east bound vehicle travelling on Du Parc Street in Fournier.

To date, officers have conducted over 90 interviews and have completed over 280 assignments in an attempt to identify the person(s) responsible for her death.

The OPP with the assistance of the Victim Services Unit, have been in constant contact with her family and remain committed to the goal of determining who struck Jessica and left her to die from her injuries.
