Pound of Marijuana and Switchblade Seized

(TRENT HILLS, ON) –At 2:30am on December 31, 2014 a Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on general patrol west of Warkworth when he noticed a Black Ford Fusion driving erratically. The officer stopped the car to investigate the reason for the bad driving and observed evidence of drugs within the vehicle.

The driver was arrested and a search of the car revealed two large zip lock plastic bags containing what the officer believed to be marihuana. The total weight was 1lb with an estimated street value of $4,500. The male was also in possession of a ‘switch blade’, which is prohibited by law and a large quantity of cash.

The driver was taken to the Campbellford OPP Detachment and his car was seized for investigation as proceeds of crime.

Travis TURNER age 26 of Brampton was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on February 25, 2014 charged with Trafficking in a Schedule 11 substance (marihuana) and possession of stolen property. Further charges are anticipated.
