Police Seeking Driver Of Hit And Run Vehicle That Struck 10 Year Old

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is seeking the assistance of the public in locating the driver of a motor vehicle after police were called to a Duncombe Road, Waterford, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at approximately 4:16 p.m., police were contacted by a concerned parent after their child had been struck by a vehicle that was travelling southbound on Duncombe Road.

Through investigation, it has been determined that a white, silver and grey coloured Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was travelling southbound on Duncombe Road when the vehicle struck a 10 year old child attempting to cross the street. As a result of the collision, the child fell to the ground however did not sustain any injuries.

The vehicle stopped and the driver exited and spoke directly to the child asking if they were ok. The driver then re-entered their vehicle and subsequently left the area in an unknown direction.

The driver is being described as a white female, 5’4, middle aged, with short brown hair.

The OPP are continuing to investigate and is seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
