POLICE RESPOND TO NUMEROUS COLLISION ON COUNTY ROADS AND AREA HWY’S

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON)- Currently members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are responding to dozens of motor vehicle collisions and countless vehicles in the ditch on Middlesex County roadways. Emergency crews are currently on route to the scene of a jackknifed tractor trailer on the W/B lanes of HWY 402 at Hickory Drive.

For public safety reasons police have closed Richmond Street from Arva to Exeter and will be expecting numerous other roads to be closed. Most areas are reporting zero visibility. Police are appealing to the public to stay all roadways!

At this time no serious injuries have been reported but are still warning the public that they need to slow down and drive according to the ever changing road and weather conditions. Today it is cold and blowing so this means the roads are slippery and snow covered. That means slow down and arrive safely at your destination.

The Middlesex OPP would like to recognize the outstanding efforts and dedication to all of the road crews who have worked tirelessly to keep our roadways clear for our daily travels. But the crews can only do so much as Mother Nature can quickly change the plan with heavy snow, blowing winds and freezing rain. It is up to each driver to ensure that their vehicle is being operated in a safe manner. Below is a list of Winter Driving Tip that will ensure you are prepared to deal with whatever Mother Nature gives us. Please share this information with all of your family, friends and co-workers to ensure that everyone is a safe as possible in their daily travels.
