Police request assistance identifying male wanted in fraud investigation

Waterloo Regional Police are requesting the public’s help to identify a male wanted in connection with an investigation into attempted fraud.
On Sept 7-8, 2013 between 10 pm and 9 am a Cambridge resident’s unlocked vehicle was entered and a wallet with identification was taken.
On October 10, 2013 a male attempted to purchase a cell phone at the Mobile Shop at 200 Franklin Blvd, Cambridge. The suspect presented an Ontario Driver’s Licence for identification which the clerk recognized as being stolen. The male took the licence and left the store but his image was captured on security video.

The clerk contacted the victim of the original theft. The victim then called police to file a report of the incident.
The suspect is described as a white male about 6’ 2” about 200 lbs. wearing a red baseball cap, blue eyes, dark blond looking hair and some type of tattoo on the left side of his neck. Security camera images are attached to this email. Anyone who recognizes this male or who has information is asked to call South Division 519 650 8500 ext. 2299 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
