Police Pursuit

On October 28th 2013, at approximately 11:30pm an officer observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Talbot Trail near Dealtown. The officer recorded the vehicle travelling at 140km/hr. in a posted 60km/hr. zone.
A traffic stop was initiated for stunt driving and after a brief pursuit the vehicle was identified and the pursuit terminated. The driver of the vehicle abandoned the vehicle and was arrested by officers walking down the roadway shortly after.

A 41 year old Leamington man has been charged with stunt driving, driving while under suspension, and failing to stop for Police.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind all motorists that upon conviction, stunt driving carries a $2000-$10,000 fine, 6 demerit points, up to 6 months jail and up to 2 years licence suspension for a first offence.
