(MUNICIPALITY OF HURON-KINLOSS, ON) On Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at approximately 8:58 p.m., South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to a collision involving a horse drawn Mennonite wagon on Bruce Road 7 between Concession 2 and Concession 4, in the Municipality of Huron-Kinloss.
A Ford Taurus travelling north bound on Bruce Road 7 collided with the back end of a horse drawn Mennonite wagon carrying a load of lumber which was travelling in the same direction.
The driver of the horse drawn wagon, a 21 year old male from Huron-Kinloss was ejected from the wagon and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford Taurus, a 35 year old male from Ripley, was transported by ambulance to the hospital in Kincardine with minor injuries.
The OPP West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit has been called to assist the South Bruce OPP with this investigation.
