(HAWKESBURY, ON) – On July 1, 2016, at approximately 1:00 p.m. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Hawkesbury detachment officers, Prescott-Russell Paramedics and Alfred-Plantagenet Fire Department responded to a drowning incident involving a 2 year old at a residence in Alfred-Plantagenet, ON.
The child, was transported to hospital with vital signs absent and was pronounced deceased.
A post-mortem has been scheduled at Ottawa Hospital for Monday, July 4, 2016. Foul play is not suspected in the death.
The Hawkesbury OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of Detective Inspector Paul Yelle of the Criminal investigation Branch (CIB), will be continuing with the investigation.
