POLICE INVESTIGATE SERIOUS MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION INVOLVING CYCLIST

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is currently investigating a motor vehicle collision at a Concession 11,Townsend, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Thursday, September 18, 2014 at approximately 8:07 p.m., Norfolk County OPP, Norfolk County Fire Services and Paramedics responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist.

Investigation has determined that a cyclist and a Ford motor vehicle were travelling eastbound on Concession 11, east of Barbers Lane when they became involved in a collision.

The cyclist suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to a local area hospital and then air lifted to a Hamilton hospital for further treatment.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation.

Concession 11 between Blueline Road and Cockshutt Road will be closed for several hours to allow for investigation.
