(ADELAIDE-METCALFE, ON) On Tuesday October 1, 2013 at 7:23 a.m. members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Southwest Middlesex Fire Department and Middlesex-London Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Calvert Drive and Thames Road located in the Municipality of Adelaide Metcalfe.
Police are currently in the preliminary stages of the investigation, but have confirmed that one adult female has died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision. A second adult has been transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Members of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) team were deployed to the scene to assist with the investigation.
Calvert Drive between Winter Drive and Burdon Road was closed to the public for a period of seven hours, as police worked to determine the factors involved in this collision.
The identities of the deceased female and injured party are being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
