Police Investigate Collision Involving Pedestrian and Tow Truck

Hamilton Police Reconstruction Unit would like to speak with people who may have witnessed the collision involving a female pedestrian and tow truck that occurred earlier today at Syndenham Street and King Street.

On Tuesday, February 6, 2018 shortly after 10:30 a.m., a 72 year old female from Dundas was walking through the crosswalk, westbound on King Street at Syndenham Street in Dundas. At that time she was struck by a Tow Truck that was in the process of turning from King to northbound on Sydenham.

The pedestrian was transported to hospital with serious head injuries. Her condition remains the same at the time of this release.

Speed, drugs and alcohol are not considered to be factors in this collision.

The Next of Kin for the pedestrian have been notified however police are not releasing her name at this time.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing the investigation. Any witnesses who have not spoken to police are asked to contact Detective Constable Niblock at 905-546-4753 or Detective Constable Vandercraats at 905-546-4755.
