Police Investigate After Golf Ball Hits Car Windshield

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a collision after being contacted by a concerned citizen at a Cockshutt Road, Townsend, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Friday, June 10, 2016, at approximately 1:15 p.m., a concerned resident contacted police after a golf ball struck the windshield of a motor vehicle.

Through the course of investigation it was determined that a vehicle was travelling northbound on Cockshutt Road between Concession 14 and Concession 13 when the vehicle’s windshield was struck by a golf ball. The driver was startled however was able to safely stop their vehicle without being involved in a collision.

Police are reminding all members of the motoring public to expect the unexpected and to be prepared to safely stop their vehicle. Motorists are being urged to drive with caution and within the speed limit and to be aware of their surroundings at all times.
