Police Chief poole Terrified Press Releases Will Fall Into Wrong Hands – Prejudice, Paranoia Or Incompetence?

Many years ago in front of Town Hall there was a heated debate with police chief tim poole regarding issuing press releases. Chief poole stated the real reason he did not issue press releases was because he didn’t know how, but he was taking a course on how to this very basic task. That’s right, somehow North Huron hired a chief of police that didn’t have the skills or confidence to keep the Public informed, and cleary had near zero computer skills.

Eventually tim poole agreed to start a Facebook page to keep the public informed, this was only updated for a short time. The next step was to get email press releases sent out, and to get on that list.

Due to paranoia or incompetence Chief poole called the Ontario Association Of Chiefs Of Police in a panic that the press releases he would write up and send out would fall into the wrong hands. Someone asked for a press release and the chief couldn’t handle the stress or complexities of adding an email address to his list, and had to call for help.

After that phone call Chief poole claimed that he can’t send out a press release to anyone unless they have a full time ombudsman on staff for him to complain to. Maybe poole isn’t paranoid and incompetent, maybe he just lets his hate and bias affect the performance of his duties. Don’t worry, I am sure he looks for the same qualities in the officers he hires.

The last time tim poole was asked if [email protected] could be added to the media contact list, poole became irate and started yelling that the Free Press isn’t real, the person asking isn’t a journalist, and most importantly that the Free Press wasn’t accredited. When asked about the “accreditation process” poole was silent. Poole was then asked who was in charge of the accreditation process, he stated he was and he decides who is accredited. Poole flatly refused access to any current or past press releases. Poole confirmed that the only way to obtain press releases through him was to file a freedom of information request to which they have 30 days to respond.
