(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) – As a result of the ongoing Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigation into the theft of a 2011 brown Chevrolet Equinox from a residential garage near Atwood on August 05, 2015, two individuals have been charged.
The stolen Equinox was recovered on September 11, 2015, by Waterloo Regional Police who charged a male with being in possession of the stolen vehicle.
The Perth County OPP utilized forensic examination to identify the persons responsible for the theft of the Equinox as well as a 2014 Ford Explorer (which had been left behind at the residence where the Equinox was stolen).
As a result of this investigation the following two persons have been jointly charged;
26-year-old Nathan Tyler JOHNSON, and 20-year-old Martina Maria BALL both residents of Kitchener, have been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada Offences:
– Theft of motor vehicle
– Break, enter a place-commit indictable offence
– Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
Both charged persons are to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on January 11, 2016, to answer to these charges.
