(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were informed of a theft of merchandise from the Listowel Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) store in Listowel on December 24, 2015.
It was determined that a male entered the store, obtained bottles of liquor and left the store without paying for the items. Investigation into the incident provided evidence as to the identity of the male.
On Tuesday December 29, 2015, police observed the identified male at a Listowel gas station and arrested him for the theft. 32-year-old Franz BERGEN-DYKE of Palmerston has been charged with two counts of “theft under $5,000”, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused has been released on a “Promise to Appear”, and is required to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Listowel on February 17, 2016, to answer to these charges.
