(KENORA, ON) – The Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a report of a male and female in Kenora using roof shoveling as a way to commit property crimes. The couple attended offering services of snow shovelling then asked the homeowner to use the bathroom in the residence. After the couple left the residence, the home-owner later noted valuables missing from the bathroom.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-222-8477 or the Kenora OPP 807-548-5534.
The Ontario Provincial Police would like to remind the public to exercise caution with strangers at your door.
Don’t unlock your door or invite strangers into your residence, talk through a locked door.
Verify identification of visitors, sales and service people. Check with the company to see if they sent a representative. Legitimate businesses will not have a problem verifying the information.
Should a stranger request to use your phone, do not allow the person to enter your home.
