(DESERONTO, ON)- The Tyendinaga Police Service and the Napanee Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are appealing to area anglers and boaters to remain vigilant as the search continues for two missing Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory men who were reported missing on Sunday, April 26th.

The men, 21 year-old Tyler MARACLE and 26 year-old Matthew FAIRMAN, had launched a red and silver 14ft aluminum fishing boat with a small motor from the Bayshore Road area at 2 a.m.

Articles belonging to the men have been located in water in the area of the Skyway Bridge on the Prince Edward County (south) side.

R. Donald MARACLE, Chief of The Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte has stated, “At this time, our young men have not been found and we are appealing to the fishermen’s sense of compassion and consideration, to be watchful on the water while the OPP and community members continue the search.”

Boaters are asked to remain on the alert and be observant in the area from Big Bay (near Point Anne) through to Deseronto.

Chief MARACLE also makes a plea to all fisherman and boaters to, “observe a “SLOW ZONE” in this area for opening weekend”.
