POLICE ARREST SOUTH RIVER MAN FOR DRIVING WHILE DISQUALIFIED

(SOUTH RIVER, ON) On Friday October 11, 2013 police observed a male driving a 2000 GMC pickup truck eastbound on Ottawa Avenue in the Village of South River, Ontario. The officer recognized the driver who is disqualified from driving and stopped the vehicle. The driver was arrested and charged with seven counts of drive while disqualified contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, fail to properly wear seat belt, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario and operate a motor vehicle with no insurance, contrary to the Canadian Automobile Insurance Act of Ontario.
The driver, Derrick McGOUGH (52) of South River, Ontario was held for a bail hearing on Tuesday October 15, 2013 in Parry Sound, Ontario.
