(Ottawa) — On the 4th day of April 2015, at approximately 3pm West Division Patrol Officers responded to the 1600 block of Merivale Road in relation to a road rage incident. There was a disturbance in the drive-thru area of a restaurant in which a suspect from a vehicle brandished a firearm and pointed it towards a driver of another vehicle.
Patrol officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle and arrest the occupants. Upon search of the vehicle, a bb handgun was located. The subsequent investigation and manner in which the bb gun was used resulted in Jordan COLLETTE (23 years of age) being charged with the following offences:
1) Careless Use of a Firearm- 86(1)-Criminal Code of Canada
2) Pointing a Firearm-87(1)-Criminal Code of Canada
3) Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose-88(1)-Criminal Code of Canada
The Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs Unit has taken carriage of the investigation and is looking to speak with any outstanding witnesses or victims.
