(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment investigated an airplane occurrence at a Concession 14, Walpole, Haldimand County, Ontario, address.
On Friday, May 20, 2016 at approximately 12:02 p.m., a concerned citizen contacted the police to report that a plane had just landed at a Concession 14 address.
Through the course of investigation, it appears that the pilot of a Cessna 172 had experienced trouble while landing the aircraft. As a result, the plane struck a tree resulting in serious damage.
The pilot, a 52-year-old male of Norfolk County, Ontario did not suffer any injuries.
The National Transportation Safety Board was contacted and advised.
