(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and other emergency services personnel were alerted to a float plane crash on Sturgeon Lake today at 4:46 pm.
The pilot, a 69 year old man from Thornhill, was the lone occupant at the time of the crash. With the assistance of a nearby boater the pilot was able to escape the crash with minor injuries.
The Transport Safety Board is continuing the investigation.
