Pickup Truck Rollover – Two Injuries

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Thursday, August 22, 2013 at approximately 4:45 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a crash along Hwy 23, south of Listowel.

Investigation revealed that a Dodge pickup truck pulling a medium sized double axle utility trailer, had been travelling north bound in the north bound lane of Highway 23. As the vehicle travelled north of Line 81, the trailer which was loaded with gravel started to swerve from side to side. The driver was unable to keep the vehicle under control as the truck and trailer crossed the south bound lane and entered the west ditch approximately 700 meters south of Line 84. As the truck and trailer came to rest on their side, the trailer spilled its load of gravel.

The 22 year old male driver and the 23 year old male passenger both residents of the Municipality of North Perth, were transported to Listowel Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

All traffic on Hwy 23 at the crash scene was diverted onto the North bound lane for approximately one hour allowing for a proper investigation and the safe removal of the vehicle. No charges have been laid as a result of this collision
