Pharmacy Robbery – MOROZ Charged

(COLLINGWOOD, ON) Members from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit with the assistance of officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP have arrested a male in relation to a robbery at a local pharmacy in Collingwood.

On March 20 2016 shortly after 2:00pm, OPP officers were dispatched to a robbery which had taken place at the Stuart Ellis IDA pharmacy on Hurontario Street. Investigation found that a male entered the pharmacy, informed the store employee that he was in possession of a gun and requested narcotics medication which he obtained and fled the scene. Officers were able to get a description of the male suspect and commenced their investigation.

Later on that evening, an officer on patrols observed a male on Birch Street near Sixth Street matching the description of the suspect. Interactions with the male led to his arrest and transport to Collingwood detachment for processing. Charged is 26 year-old Jordan MOROZ of no fixed address, he is facing a charge of robbery with violence. He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.
