Pervert Alert – Michael William MacKenzie MARTIN – Luring, Child Pornography

(LaSalle, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit have charged a LaSalle man following an internet luring investigation.

In November 2015, police from Wichita Kansas received a complaint in regards to an internet luring matter. The suspect was communicating online with a ten year old child and engaging in sexually explicit conversation. During the investigation, it was learned that the suspect was believed to be from Ontario. In May 2016, the matter was forwarded to the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit for investigation.

On May 26, 2016 as a result of this investigation, police officers from the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, Windsor Police Service and LaSalle Police Service executed a search warrant at a LaSalle residence. As a result of the search, one laptop computer, one cellular telephone and data storage devices were seized. Some of these devices contained images of child sexual abuse. These items are pending forensic analysis.

On May 26, 2016 police arrested Michael William MacKenzie MARTIN, age 19 years, of LaSalle Ontario. He is charged with one count of Internet Luring, one count of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of Accessing Child Pornography.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to attend a bail hearing today, May 26, 2016 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor Ontario.

The investigation is continuing.
