On August 25, 2015 between 4:45 p.m. and 5:15 p.m., a female youth was walking in the Simmonds Drive/Wideman Boulevard area when a vehicle pulled up beside her and asked for directions and then asked her to get in the car to help find the street. At this point she ran from the area to a friend’s house.
The male driver is described as:
Male white, 40’s, dark brown hair with salt and pepper on the sides, tight fitting black leather jacket, one spike style spacer earring, sunken cheeks, gold tooth on upper, some freckles and spoke with a lisp.
The vehicle is described as:
A newer blue Honda with silver rims, tinted windows and partial plate AC.

General police patrol leads to arrest
On August 26, 2015 at 1:26 a.m., a Guelph Police investigation of a male that dumped his bike and ran when he saw police on Speedvale Avenue West led to his arrest. Subsequent to his arrest, a search discovered stolen property, break in instruments and a small quantity of drugs.
A 40-year-old Guelph man has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, possession of break in instruments and 4 counts of breach of probation. He was also charged under the C.D.S.A. with two counts of possession of a controlled substance. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on August 26, 2015.
Security guard assaulted – arrests made
On August 19, 2015, the Guelph Police began an investigation into the assault of a security guard at the Old Quebec Street Mall. It is alleged that the guard was dealing with a male and female when the male spit on him. An attempt to arrest the male led to a struggle between the guard and both parties who were able to get away and left the area.
On August 25, 2015, the male and female were arrested. A search subsequent to arrest discovered break in instruments on the male.
David Herron, 22 years of Guelph is charged with assault, assault with intent to resist arrest, cause disturbance by fighting and possession of break in instruments. He will appear in court on October 6, 2015.
A 17-year-old female has been charged with assault and cause disturbance by fighting. She will appear in court on October 7, 2015.
Theft from cars
On August 26, 2015 the Guelph Police received five reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Speedvale Avenue West, Victoria Road North, Ironwood Road, Sagewood Place and Cambridge Street.
This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
