Perth OPP Crackdown Nabs 108 Speeders & 8 Distracted Drivers In One Week

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were out on area roadways enforcing a provincial led traffic initiative which ran from June 26, 2015 to July 1, 2015.

There were several charges laid throughout the County including the following violations:

108 Speeding – Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

1 Racing charge (HTA)

5 Seatbelt charges(HTA)

8 Distracted Driving (HTA)

7 Hazardous Moving offences (HTA)

9 Other HTA offences

2 Liquor Licence Act (LLA)

3Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA)

2 Warn Range Suspensions

Officers also responded to 9 crashes; two at intersections where drivers failed to stop, four other minor collisions, three parking lot fender benders and two car deer collisions.
