PERTH COUNTY OPP TOY DRIVES A HUGE SUCCESS

(ST.MARYS, ON) On Saturday November 30, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until 2:15 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police Officers and volunteers were in attendance with their police vehicles in front of the St.Marys Canadian Tire Store in St. Marys for their annual OPP Christmas toy drive.

The citizens of St.Marys and surrounding area dropped off unwrapped toys to the officers who were able to pack two OPP mini vans and an OPP Tahoe full of toys. At the end of the day, all the toys were delivered to the St.Marys Salvation Army who will be distributing them to needy families within St.Marys.

Perth County OPP Inspector Steve Porter who was in attendance with his wife said, “I am impressed by the residents of St.Marys who realize a need and cheerfully give towards this cause. The number of toys donated will go a long way to ensure that children of less fortunate families will have a nice toy for Christmas”.

The OPP wishes to thank the St.Marys Canadian Tire store for their assistance and additional toy donations.
