(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On June 13, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the East Algoma Crime Unit, responded to a theft of cash and gift cards at senior’s building on Hudson Street in the Town of Blind River.
Police began an investigation when an elderly female complained that she noticed there was over $150 in cash and gift cards missing from her wallet after a Personal Support Worker (PSW) had been in her apartment on June 10, 2016.
As a result of the investigation, Danielle LAFRANCE, 26 years of age, from Blind River, Ontario, was arrested and charged with:
Theft Under $5000, contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code; and
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 – in Canada (X2), contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
The accused is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on
August, 2016.
