(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment continues to investigate a single motor vehicle collision at a Hwy #3, Dunnville, Haldimand County, ON address.
This morning Thursday August 28th, 2014 at approximately 6:20 am Haldimand County Emergency Services were called to Hwy #3 west of Bird Road after a west bound grey 2006 Chev SUV failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The vehicle entered the ditch and struck a utility pole before coming to rest in a drainage ditch.
Haldimand County Fire Department attended the scene to provide extrication services to remove the lone male driver. He then received emergency medical treatment from Haldimand County Paramedics before being air lifted to a Hamilton hospital.
The driver of the SUV identified as 31 year old Shane MOORE of Fort Erie, ON sustained serious injuries during the collision and is currently being treated at a Hamilton hospital.
Hwy #3 was closed for several hours to allow for investigation and clean up.
