On November 12, 2016 at 1:20 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Moore Avenue and Wellington Street in Waterloo. The 37-year-old female pedestrian was hit by a driver of a four-door motor vehicle, who fled the scene without stopping. The pedestrian was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers were able to locate a suspect shortly after. An 18-year-old Kitchener male has been arrested and will be charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm and failure to stop at an accident. The driver also faces charges under the Highway Traffic Act.
