(LEAMINGTON, ON) — The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Leamington received a call regarding a pedestrian that was struck while walking on Essex County Road 33 in Leamington on June 20, 2016 at approximately 6:30 a.m.
A blue Dodge was travelling northbound on Essex County Road 33 when it struck a male pedestrian with its side mirror. The vehicle then left the scene.
The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital by Essex Windsor Emergency Medical Service (EMS) for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
The vehicle was located a short while later on Lutsch Avenue. The female driver exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.
Anna FEHR, age 36 of Leamington was charged with the following offences:
Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content
Drive While Under Suspension x 2 (Highway Traffic Act)
Fail to Report Accident (Highway Traffic Act)
She will appear in a Leamington court on July 7, 2016 to answer to the charges.
