(BRIGHTON, ON) – At approximately 6:55 am on Thursday October 31, 2013 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended to a vehicle and pedestrian collision on Main Street in the Municipality of Brighton.
A 74 year old female Brighton resident was crossing on the walk signal southbound at corner of Main and Prince Edward Streets in downtown Brighton, when she was struck by a 2007 Chrysler Sebring that was turning left from Prince Edward Street to continue west on Main Street . The female was transported by Northumberland Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to a local hospital with minor non-life threatening injuries. It was dark and raining at the time of the collision and traffic was only detoured temporarily while OPP investigated.
Kwanyoung KIM, (male) 58 from Trenton, Ontario has been charged with fail to yield to pedestrian and other vehicle related offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
