A 50 year-old Roblin area man is in hospital after being struck by a vehicle on Highway #41 near Tamworth last evening.
Just before 11:30 p.m. a man was discovered lying injured on the highway by a passing motorist. The man was transported by paramedics to hospital in Napanee where he was stabilized before he was then taken to Kingston General Hospital where he remains in serious, but not life-threatening condition.
Investigation into the incident has determined that the man was struck by a motor vehicle that failed to remain at the scene. That vehicle and it’s driver, a female youth, have been identified and located.
Highway 41 was closed for approximately three hours between County Rd #4 and Marlbank Road while collision investigators examined and gathered evidence at the scene.
The investigation continues and no further information is not available for release at this time.
