(Ottawa, ON) –The Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 417.
Shortly before 4:30 p.m., a tractor trailer collision involving a pedestrian occurred on Highway 417 eastbound at Metcalfe Avenue. The male pedestrian was transported by ambulance to the hospital with life threatening injuries and has since been pronounced deceased. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
The blocked lanes were re-opened at 7:30 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
