PEDESTRIAN COLLISION

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment is currently investigating a pedestrian verses transport collision at a Main St., Hagersville, Haldimand County, ON address.

Today, Monday April 14th, 2014 at approximately 11:10 am Emergency Services were called to the pedestrian crash at Main St. south of King St. to find a 63 year old male suffering from serious injuries.

Emergency medical aid was administered by Haldimand County Paramedics and Fire Department before transporting to Hagersville Hospital. The male 63 year old was then air lifted a Hamilton hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Investigation has thus far revealed that the 63 year old Haldimand County, ON man was crossing Main St. when he was struck by a southbound transport tanker truck. The driver of the transport was not physically injured during the collision.

Ontario Provincial Police Technical Traffic Collision Investigator and West Region Traffic Unit are assisting with the investigation.

Main St. (Hwy #6) Hagersville was closed from King St (County Road #20) to David St. to allow for investigation.

As of 3:45 pm Main St will be reopened.
