(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – On June 22, 2016, at approximately 11:12 a.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian and a stroller.
The investigation determined that a black Volkswagen car had been reversing out of the driveway on Dorchester Rd. A pedestrian was waiting at the edge of Dorchester Road with her baby stroller, and attempting to cross Dorchester Road, when the car backed into her, knocking her and her baby stroller over into the roadway.
The 35-year-old female, and the 1-year-old child, were both transported with minor injuries to hospital, and subsequently discharged.
The driver, a 53-year-old male from Thames Centre, Ontario, has been charged with fail to yield to pedestrian on roadway under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
