(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – The Pedal for Hope team is once again preparing for a fun filled, educational event that will help to raise funds for pediatric cancer research.
For three weeks the Pedal for Hope team, which is comprised of local police officers, will ride their bicycles over a distance of approximately 1 000 km’s with stops at local schools where they will deliver an important message about kids living with cancer.
The City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is working to support the Pedal for Hope by hosting a Celebrity Server night at the Boston Pizza in Lindsay.
On Wednesday, March 26, 2014 OPP officers, including members of the Pedal for Hope team, will be serving up the food in an effort to raise funds for the upcoming event. All funds raised will go to the Pedal for Hope team and ultimately to pediatric cancer research.
“Cancer is a terrible disease that can affect anyone. It is terrible when an adult is diagnosed…I can’t imagine having a child being diagnosed. This is a fantastic opportunity for the whole community to support an unbelievable group that works incredibly hard to raise funds for pediatric cancer researchâ€Â, states Community Service Officer P/C Lanning.
