(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On June 25th, 2016, at approximately 6:30am officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information regarding a single motor vehicle collision on Dundas St West.
During the investigation the officer determined that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.
Paul POVEY, 47, of Cobourg has been charged with:
Driving While Ability Impaired – 253(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada
Care or Control Over 80 mgs. – 253(1)(b) Criminal Code of Canada
Fail or refuse to provide a breath sample – 254(5) Criminal Code of Canada
There were no injuries reported as a result of the collision
The male was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville on July 14th, 2016.
