Pascal GAUDREAULT – Flight From Police, Dangerous Driving, Mischief, etc

(KAPUSKASING, ON) – On June 10, 2015 at 4:15 pm, officers with the Kapuskasing Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting patrols in the town of Kapuskasing when they observed an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) driving in a manner which was endangering public safety. As a result of a police investigation, Pascal GAUDREAULT, 29, of Kapuskasing, has been charged with the following offences:

Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle as per section 249(1)(a) contrary to the Criminal Code (CC)

Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer as per section 249.1(1) of the CC;

Mischief Under $5000 as per section 430(4) of the CC;

Driving while under suspension as per section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

Race a motor vehicle as per section 172(1) of the HTA; and with

Operate a motor vehicle without insurance as per section 2(1)(a) contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing on August 31, 2015 at 10:00 am.
