Occurrence Type: Assault Cause Bodily Harm

A 31 year old Federal Parolee was visiting his children, his former girlfriend and her fiance at southwest-end residence over the holidays while on a temporary absent order from his correctional facility. Today, without notice, the parolee attacked the fiance as the fiance stepped into the home. The parolee punched the fiance in the face multiple times, breaking his jaw. The accused then placed the victim in a headlock and the victim was unable to breath for almost a minute.
During the headlock, the accused stated he was going to kill the victim. The girlfriend intervened and the accused released the choke hold. The accused pleaded for them not to call police then fled. Correctional Service Canada issued an arrest warrant for the accused. Barrie Police are also in the process of applying for an arrest warrant for the accused for the offences of Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Choking and Utter Threats. The accused whereabouts is unknown at this time. The victim required medical attention for his broken jaw.
