(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – In the early morning hours of August 16, 2016, the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft of a motor vehicle.
Officers were dispatched to a Gregory Drive residence as a white Ford pickup truck had been stolen from the driveway. Officers patrolled the area, and located a suspicious vehicle and its occupant, near Fairview Road, and Plover Mills Road.
It was determined that the driver of the beige Mazda car, was one of two males involved in the theft of the pickup truck. He was placed under arrest at the scene, transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment, and held in custody.
A short time later, the stolen pickup was observed driving dangerously in the City of London, Ontario. The male driver abandoned the vehicle, and fled on foot, in the area of Gore Road and Veteran’s Memorial Parkway. The male was identified, and arrested that afternoon by London Police Service (LPS). He was transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment, and was held in custody.
As a result of the police investigation, 47-year-old George LISCOMBE, from London, Ontario, has been charged with theft over $5000 of a motor vehicle, and fail to comply with probation order, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
40-year-old Shane ANDREWS, from London Ontario, has been charged with theft over $5000 of a motor vehicle, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The pair remains in custody, and will be answering the charges in the London courts.
