(HALIBURTON, ON) – On Sunday January 05, 2014 at approximately 3:30 pm officers from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. check on Water Street in the Township of Minden Hills. Officers stopped a vehicle at that location and charged the 47 year old male driver from Mount Hope Ontario with Drive While under Suspension and No Seatbelt. The 24 year old male passenger from Minden Ontario was also charged with Having Open Liquor in a Vehicle.
The OPP would like to remind motorists that although the Festive R.I.D.E. program is complete, officers will be routinely conducting R.I.D.E. checks throughout the year.
