On 08 February 2016 the Owen Sound Police commenced an investigation into an alleged sexual assault which was to have occurred in the afternoon of 07 February 2016 at a downtown apartment.
The investigation revealed that the accused, a 45 year old Owen Sound resident attended the downtown apartment of a 63 year old female who was known to him. The accused, who was intoxicated, entered the female’s apartment and went to her bedroom where she was sleeping.
The accused began to grope the female without her consent and continued his actions even after the female protested. The male left the apartment after friends of the female who were in the apartment intervened.
The accused was located and arrested on 09 February 2016. He was charged with one count of sexual assault and held for bail.
