On 31 March 2016 at approximately 9:45pm police received three separate 911 calls regarding a possible impaired driver. The callers indicated that the female driver was believed to be intoxicated and had two children in the vehicle with her when she left the movie theaters on the Sunset Strip on the west side of Owen Sound. The female’s vehicle was observed to be driven erratically and was all over the road.
Police located the female in the 1000 block of 4th Avenue West. After some investigation the female was arrested for impaired driving. Subsequent tests revealed the females blood alcohol to be twice the legal limit. The 40 year old Owen Sound female faces 1 charge of impaired driving and 1 charge of having more than 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood. She was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in April.
