(KEARNEY, ON) – On Sunday August 2, 2015 at approximately 1:00 p.m., the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Parry Sound Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Kearney Fire Department responded to a capsized canoe on Grass Lake.
OPP investigation revealed that the two men were boating in a canoe when their boat capsized and neither was wearing a personal floatation device. One male was able to swim to shore, the other, a 27 year old from Toronto Ontario was later found deceased by the OPP Under Water Search and Recovery Unit. No foul play is suspected.
The name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of next of kin
