Over 30 Charges Laid Following Break and Enter / Car Theft Bust

(SPRINGWATER TWP, ON.) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police Huronia West Detachment Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of Barrie Police Service and Barrie O.P.P, have arrested and charged two men and are looking for a third in relation to a rash of stolen vehicles, break and enters and property thefts in the Springwater Township area.

The accused are believed responsible for stealing numerous motor vehicles and, while wearing disguises, breaking into several homes to steal property. The occurrences happened between September and November of this year in Springwater Twp, The City of Barrie and Oro-Medonte Twp. As a result of the investigation over 30 charges have been laid.

18 year old Matthew WEBB of Barrie is charged with:

7 counts of Theft Over $5000

5 counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

4 counts of Break and Enter

2 counts of Theft Under $5000

1 count of Disguise with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence

23 year old Nathan PATTERSON of Barrie is charged with:

3 counts of Break and Enter

2 counts of Disguise with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence

1 count of Theft Under $5000

1 count of Theft Over $5000

Both accused are in custody.

A third male is wanted by Huronia West OPP in relation to the remaining charges.
