(Ottawa) –The Ottawa Police Service has charged an Ottawa man after receiving a complaint about a confrontation on August 13, 2015 around 4:00pm.
The complainant, a taxi driver, picked up a fare in the 1000 block of Airport Parkway Private and proceeded to leave this location. The complainant was soon surrounded by a number of persons, some on foot and others in taxis, who began yelling as he attempted to drive away.
The complainant and his passenger were subsequently blocked from moving forward by another taxi. The driver of the second taxi joined a group, causing damage to the complainant’s vehicle.
As a result of the investigation Najil MANKAL, 58 years old of Ottawa, was charged with Mischief over $5000.
Officers continue to actively investigate and collect evidence and charges will be laid if warranted.
